Gas powered Racing Bar Stools come in five basic flavors . Listed below is a quick description of each type with expanded key points following.

Racing Bar Stools designed to race in a straight line (drag racing)
Racing Bar Stools designed to race on an oval track
Racing Bar Stools designed to race on a road course
Racing Bar Stools designed on a budget (built from anything you can beg, borrow, or steal, but always powered one way or another by gas) raced on dirt, asphalt, clay, sidewalks, grass, indoors, outdoors.........
A new category of which I have only viewed a few pictures.......Off-Road Racing Barstools (Large  tires and wheels) If you have pictures....we have web space!

Key Points

Drag stools usually have steering wheels (that's because they go straight and don't make a lot of fast turns) , a high performance engine (see links page -usually from a mini dragster), low gear ratios, interesting paint and accessories, and wheelie bars to keep you off your back. I'm aware of one that completes the 1/8 mile at near 74mph!
Oval track Racing Bar Stools usually have moto-cross handle bars and controls, for improved steering, performance go-cart type engines, improved brakes (drum, single or dual disc) heavy duty frames designed for more stress and abuse, heavy duty spindles,  and always scuffed up paint.
Road course Racing Bar Stools usually have moto-cross handle bars and controls, for improved steering as with the oval track racers, performance go-cart type engines, improved brakes (drum, single or dual disc) heavy duty frames designed for more stress and abuse, heavy duty spindles,  a differential (for powering into the curves without loosing your ability to brake, and almost never look pretty.
Budget Bar Stools are by far the most creative and interesting of the group.  Power can be from a weed-eater, a lawn mower, an old generator, or any other place you can find a motor including mopeds, and old motorcycles.  Steering and drive systems are generally sourced the same way......."Hey kid........I'll give you ten bucks for that bike frame". old washing machine pulleys, go-cart frames in the bargain trader, believe it or not..... old exercise equipment,   .....whatever.....the only thing that must be consistent is you must use a "Bar Stool"  Imagination runs supreme in this category.  This is usually the first stool people tend to build.
Off Road Bar Stools are a type of hybrid Bar Stool taking a little of everybody else's ideas, compiling them, and usually adding low gearing,  big tires, & wheels.
