December's Bar Stool Of The Month

                                        Dean21.JPG (160326 bytes)

This month's bar stool was one that I built back in the summer, specifically to see what could be built on a budget with limited skills. If you look closely, the frame is (for all practical purposes) just a rectangle of box tubing with spindles, a motor mount, and flanges to hold axle bearings welded on. Strangely enough this bar stool handles better than most I've built or driven before or since.  Most of the parts were purchased right out of the Northern Tool Store (not a promo....but they do have locations in most large towns in the US) and their parts are quite reasonable in most cases. Use of aluminum diamond plate really added to the final retro look. ( you can purchase small pre-cut pieces of the Diamond plate aluminum at Lowe's Home Improvement Centers)

Well... when the job was complete, including braided stainless brake lines, and a new retro Bar stool, the price came in just below $850.00
